We are excited to announce the release of InterFormNG2 4.0 – and this is a big one, we have added more than 70 improvements.
Key highlights from the 4.0-release:
In this article we will expand on the key highlights. For a more detailed and in-depth overview of all the changes, we recommend reading the full release log.
With the new 4.0 update, the AdvancedPDF module in InterFormNG2 is now capable of creating PDFs that comply with the PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) standard. Starting June 28, 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) will require that products and services provided to consumers (invoices e.g.), must meet specific accessibility requirements.
PDFs must be properly tagged, follow a logical reading order, include alt text for images, and use readable fonts and contrast. Accessibility becomes as essential as layout or branding in document creation.
These rules are designed to ensure that digital content is usable by everyone, including people who rely on screen readers or other assistive technologies.
The AdvancedPDF-module is required.

InterFormNG2 4.0 introduces several new workflow components, including:
You can now build workflows that respond to cloud events via Azure Service Bus, securely retrieve credentials from Azure Key Vault at runtime, and directly retrieve documents from SharePoint, without leaving the InterFormNG2 environment. This allows for efficient integration with enterprise systems and secure handling of sensitive data in an automated process.
Together, these additions unlock more advanced automation possibilities – while keeping things secure and scalable.

Expanded printing support in InterFormNG2 4.0 brings more flexibility and precision to your laser print output processes.
The introduction of PCL6 enables better compression of high-quality print output, which is ideal for customers where sharp, professional images are part of the output. This could be high-resolution invoices or picklists on modern laser printers that leverage advanced graphics command.
When designing output for PCL5, any graphic positioned closer than ~6 mm from the edge (all four sides) is now ‘auto-snapped’ to 6 mm. When this happens users will get a warning. This is to prevent content to be cut or lost when printing with PCL5 devices, thereby ensuring that your output is exactly how you want it to be.
We have added several features that helps keeping your system lean and efficient:
By reducing job log sizes and introducing auto-deletion of payloads after successful print jobs, InterFormNG2 4.0 ensures smoother operation, faster log handling, and significantly less storage waste, especially for high-volume users.
These updates directly enhance system reliability, performance, and manageability by reducing system load, preventing database bloat, minimizing storage usage, and streamlining workflow execution, resulting in faster, more reliable operations.
As previously announced this week, we have introduced a new UI to InterFormNG2.
You will notice the entire interface now sports a modern look, with cleaner icons and minimalistic elements and a more user-friendly interface. The redesign aims to improve clarity and usability while staying familiar to long-time users.
As always, we strongly recommend keeping your InterFormNG2 installation up to date. The 4.0 upgrade delivers major usability, performance, and compatibility improvements, and ensures you are on the most supported version.
