If you are printing e.g. normal *SCS spooled files (not merged InterForm400 spooled files), then the spooled files can select a specific drawer via the DRAWER field. This can e.g. also contain a number in the range 1-255, which normally ‘should’ be physical drawer number on the printer.
This is however translated by Host Print Transform into a PCL number. This translation is setup either via a selected manufacturer type model (MFRTYPMDL) or a workstation customisation object (WSCST) on the used printer device or printer output queue (Output queue when printing via a remote writer without a printer device).
So OS/400 (or whatever the operating system is called this week) is translating the selected drawer into the PCL drawer code in this manner via Host Print Transform and you need to select a WSCST or MFRTYPMDL that exactly fits the printer you are using to make this work.
For those putting InterForm400 into production you might expect that a change of, the DRAWER parameter on the spooled file, WSCST or another MFRTYPMDL will select another drawer also for the InterForm400 merged spooled files, but that is not the case..
