Unless you use the Winprint module the laser printers, that you use with InterForm400 must be either PCL5e, PCL5c or PDF compatible in order to work InterForm400.
The normal way to generate print output is via a merge, but PDF spooled files can also be generated with the PRTPDF command.
Overlays/forms for laser printers and/or PDF must be created in a file set of type 1=Laser printer.
For the merge you should specify one of the specific laser printer types.
Apart from simple printing you can also use more advanced printing functions like:
1.Dynamic duplex/simplex print either with fixed/variable back pages.
2.Stapling
3.Drawer selection.
5.Support for inserter machines (OMR).
6.Multi-Up or N-Up.
7.You can add special, variable user defined PJL sequences to the start of your merged spooled files. This cannot be combined with stapling.
8.There are many option to change the input spooled file prior to the merge as described here.
