On the IBM i platform InterFormNG behaves a bit differently compared to other platforms, when it comes to printers:

1.The supported mime types are limited to Direct protocol, PCL and ZPL i.e. Driverprint and Postscript are not supported on the IBM i platform.

2.The procedure to add a System/OS printer is different compared to other platforms.

3.If you have a license for InterFormNG, that supports unlimited number of printers, that you can select an IBM i output queue with special IBM i meta data keys to select the mime type and printer.

4.There are extra, special meta data keys, that can set various attributes of the output spooled file.

5.It is possible to connect with the printer without producing an output spooled file and printing via OS400. The other connection types can also be used.

6.The XML file produced by Spool2XML contains a special JOBINFORMATION subtree, which includes a lot of information of the original job and spooled file, that generated the original XML. This job information can be used for deciding the target printer in either the workflow or via the meta data element in a template.
