During the installation of InterForm400 a directory, APF3812Mail is created in the IFS. This directory has these sub-directories:
/APF3812Mail/Log
If you specify SAVE(*YES) in order to save the e-mail, the e-mail will be saved as an .eml file in this directory. Old emails in this directory are not automatically deleted via the APF3812/CLRMAILLOG command.
APF3812Mail/OutBox
This directory holds the e-mails, that can not be sent, if e.g. the Mail Server Framework is not started. It also contains any email sent via InterForm400 SMTP. Old emails in this directory should be deleted with the APF3812/CLRMAILLOG command, which is recommended to run on a regular basis e.g. via the OS400 job scheduler.
Emails sent with IBM SMTP are deleted from the OutBox directory, when they have been sent.
It is possible to add one level of sub-directories to the OutBox directory. This can be used not only for organizing the emails, but also for restricting access to confidential emails.
The outbox sub-directory can be used for both for the Email finish definition and the email commands.
When you generate your emails, you can specify which Outbox sub-directory the email should be placed it. If you want to restrict access to the emails in a sub-directory, then you can simply change the authority to the Outbox sub-directory e.g. with WRKAUT:

In this only authorized users are able to view the emails inside the directory, 'Confident'. The functions to view the mail log will also exclude emails from the list, if you are not authorized for them.

Reserved by InterForm400. Directory for temporary work files used when creating PDF files. Used files are automatically deleted.
