The prerequisites for InterForm400 are these:
•Your IBM i need to run at least OS/400 version 7 release 2 or newer.
•You need to accept the license agreement of InterForm400.
•The automatic scaling (used both in the graphical designer and the green screen designer) of spooled files has been changed in the 2020 versions. This has been done to match the automatic scaling of IBM Host Print Transform. This means, that the PCL/PDF output will change after an upgrade from a pre-2020 version to a 2020 (or future version) of InterForm400, so it is recommended to consider this prior to an upgrade from a pre-2020 version to a 2020 (or future version) of InterForm400. A way to ensure, that the output is unchanged after an upgrade is to select a specific font and line distance on the header of the main overlay.
•Disk space required for InterForm400 is 600 Mb not including additional modules (e.g. InterWord400, Interfax400..). During install additional 600 Mb storage is required for a temporary library.
•The printers which are used with the InterForm400 system should be configured as 3812 model 1 (non-IPDS) with host print transform enabled.
•Java Runtime Environment or Java Development Kit is required for some features e.g. advanced image support and PDFCONCAT, where support for JRE/JDK Version 1.8 is required. The available Java versions (per OS400 Version) can be found via this link: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1011999
•Make sure you have QSECOFR rights on the System i, or similar with USER CLASS *SECOFR authority. The user profile used for the install must at least have *ALLOBJ, *SECADM and *SPLCTL special authorities in order to be able to do the install.
•A valid license key is needed to run InterForm400.
•During the installation you will be asked to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA). After the installation you can at any time view this license via the InterForm400 by selecting ‘70. Configuration and licences’ from the InterForm400 Main Menu followed by option ‘60. Display InterForm400 End User License Agreement’. Remember to press <Page Down> to view the complete license agreement.
•Special prerequisites apply for the graphical designer.
•The FTP server must be started and port numbers 20 and 21 must be open, if you want to use the RSTLIBPC tool for restoring, but there is also an alternative, that is not using FTP.
•No additional user objects e.g. output queues, programs, sources, data areas etc. should be placed in the APF3812 library. These objects will remain in the APF3812OLD library after an upgrade.
•It is not recommended to create your own sub-directories (e.g. for archiving) within the IFS folders supplied by InterForm400. This includes the folders: APF3812Home and APF3812Mail.
•It is not recommended to include the APF3812 library to any library list as any job that locks the APF3812 library will prevent an upgrade of InterForm400.
•The sample file set is not to be used for your own overlays. Such overlays will remain in the APF3812OLD library after and InterForm400 upgrade and will not be copied to the new version.
•The supported OS400 versions are:
