The file type DP is an abbreviation of Direct Protocol. This is one of the printer languages, that you can select when you setup printers in InterFormNG2.
This is one of the file types/payloads, that can be handled by the InterFormNG2 workflow.
Direct Protocol is a printer language which is supported by some Intermec label printers. It is recommended to avoid Direct Protocol as there are multiple, undocumented limitations compared to other printer languages e.g. concerning barcode support. If possible you should setup the printer to emulate ZPLII instead or consider to print via the Windows printer driver.
Please notice the special Direct Protocol settings, when you setup a printer to use Direct Protocol.
DP can also be the payload in the workflow, if you use the component, Create direct protocol document. You can then freely choose, if you e.g. want to store the ZPL file in a folder with the To filesystem component or if you want to later set the printer and then finally print it out with the To printer component like for PCL.
