No specific InterForm400 license is needed, and no special fonts e.g. True Type Fonts are needed to create a barcode. You just need to create a barcode font number, and then you can use that in the designer in text elements (for non-2D barcodes), remap window elements and concat elements.

In order to use a barcode you first need to create a barcode font number, the barcodes are restricted to specific ranges depending on the barcode type. You can use the barcode font number for fixed texts (only non 2D barcodes), tabulators and Remap window.

The barcode fonts are created/changed via these menu options in InterForm400:

80. Administering InterForm400

4. Work with fonts

The next option depends if the barcode is for PCL/PDF output or ZPL/IDP:

For PCL/PDF chose option: 1. Description of additional fonts

For ZPL/IDP chose option: 11. Description of ZEBRA fonts

To insert a barcode in an overlay you should normally use either the Remap Window, or the Concat design elements.
