InterFormNG2 can work with PDF files in multiple ways - both as input and as output.
PDF is one of the file types/payloads, that can be handled by the InterFormNG2 workflow.
A workflow can e.g. accept PDF files as the input file type. Such an input PDF file can e.g. be appended to another PDF file.
It is also possible to add a digital signature or a written signature to a PDF file.
You can also protect and restrict the use of a PDF file.
If you have a PDF compatible printer, then you can even also print a PDF file (provided that the printer understand PDF as a print data stream) with the set the printer component followed by the To printer component.
InterFormNG2 can generate PDF output in multiple ways with these workflow components:
This workflow component merge an input document (XML or spooled file) with a template and the result is written into a PDF file in the file system. The output payload is the same as the input payload e.g. XML.
This merge an input document (XML or spooled file) with a template, and the result is kept in the workflow inside the payload. Subsequent workflow components can then e.g. process the PDF file with the workflow components mentioned above under PDF as input and/or distributed as output e.g. as a PDF file with the To filesystem component, FTP or put the PDF in the payload into an attachment in an email.
This creates an email with an attached PDF file, that is the result of a merge with the input document and a template. The output payload is the same as the input payload e.g. XML.
You can use this component to create an EML file in the payload of the workflow, and then e.g. put it to the file system with the To filesystem component.
